Autel MaxiIM IM508 (with XP400) and IM608 is capable of renewing Mercedes ECU/ISM CR3.xx, CR4.xx CR5.xx, CR6.xx, CR60.xx, CRD.11, CRD2.xx, ME9.7, MED17.7.x, SIM4LE, SIM4LKE, SIM266 etc. This function can be completed only on bench. Some ECUs can be done with or without GBox, some do require the Gbox.

Connect xp400 wires with ECU according to the wiring diagram
In IM508 you select CR3.xx->On bench (or On bench G-box if you use G-box)-> Read engine ECU information
Establishing vehicle communication
Read ecu information
Press OK to save ECU info, always backup ECU data before operation.
Select Renew engine (ECU)
Autel im508 will ask you if Gbox is used. Here we don’t use Gbox, press NO and continue
Enter 16-digit special key password. If you read the key pass before, im508 will auto fill it.
Press OK to obtain erase password
Network connection is required to calculate password for renewing engine ECU
Establishing vehicle communication
Renew ecu is completed
Read ECU information again
CR3.44 ECU has been renewed successfully
Save new ECU data.
